If you’ve ever been afraid of feeling pushy when you’re trying to sell your programs or services, then chances are that you are leaving money on the table by playing small. This is so much more common than you may think. You are not the only coach or service-based entrepreneur who has struggled with the ‘I-don’t-want-to-be-pushy’ block.

I don’t blame you either.

After being sold to in shady, grimy, and annoying ways myself, I can see why so many women in the online space are scared around sales.

While selling more and selling better is a practice that (at first) may feel uncomfortable to most, in today’s blog post, I’m committed to teaching you exactly how you can stop feeling pushy when you’re selling your services (so that you can ultimately sell A LOT more).

If you want to stop feeling pushy when selling, you must first understand one of the main reasons why you’re actually feeling pushy… Because you are being pushy. Stay with me for a second because if this doesn’t make sense, it’s about to.

Maybe you’re not being pushy with your actual sales. Perhaps you’re not messaging someone daily who already told ‘NO THANK YOU’. Neither are you pressuring a potential client into applying for a credit card to pay for coaching (which may I just add – ‘ewww’ to these masculine-driven tactics).

In your energy, however, you are being pushy. If you weren’t, I promise you that selling yourself and your services would come 100 times easier and flow in a way that feels really good.

Being energetically pushy around sales could like getting extremely attached to a client saying yes, focusing ONLY on selling and not actually serving, or bringing that desperate energy that so many new entrepreneurs bring to their marketing, launches, and sales calls.

So while you may not physically be ACTING pushy, you are FEELING pushy- because you are SO attached and desperate for a specific result.

Listen, ZERO judgement here.

I have definitely been there and I know this is not an easy thing to change. It’s work and awareness and more work and more awareness. But it is THE way to finally not feel pushy about sales.

You must stop feeling pushy from within.
That desperation. That attachment. That pressure that you’re giving yourself. They are the exact reason why selling in a way that feels good is hard for you.

If you’re coming from a space of ‘this client needs to buy right now’, of course it’s going to be extremely hard for you to follow up with that client without feeling pushy. If you’re coming from a place where things need to happen instantly, of course you’re going to feel icky when you’re creating your marketing materials.
NOT feeling pushy when you’re selling your services is an INSIDE job first. When you can come to the sales game detached from an outcome, feeling ease around whatever happens vs. feeling desperate, and confident that no matter what happens your business will still thrive… Then, you can finally sell from a place of SERVICE not desperate.

That’s when you can follow up with a potential lead because you know deep in your heart that your services will change their life and genuinely want to see them thrive. That’s when you can launch because you’re so excited about what you have to offer that you’re willing to go all in despite what the end result is. That’s when you can actually enjoy the whole JOURNEY of selling vs. fixating on a specific person saying yes or no.

Quite frankly, that’s also when you start selling more (like A LOT more).

I’m willing to bet that you’re not out there telling people that they will fail unless they hire you, right? So if you’re feeling pushy around selling it’s probably because of your INTERNAL state and not about what you’re actually ‘doing’ that’s making you feel that way.

These things are NOT being pushy at sales, your energy behind them is what’s making it feel that way.
